We beg you mother,
share with us again
the magical colors of hope.
Your emerald hues
that beckon the birds and
the violet of leafy-stemmed buds.
Bring us shy daffodils
who share a
beautiful canary song.
These treasured jewels
and each new leaf,
remind us of hidden gifts
this early season has to share.
